What is Sensorium?
Welcome to Sensorium Early Learning Centre!
It is the parts of the brain that receive and make sense of sensory stimuli. It is where the brain processes and registers incoming sensory information which makes it possible to make connections in the world. Like how we take in a smell which instantly takes us back to some memory or knowing snow will feel cold. The more sensory experiences children are exposed to, the more pathways are created for a strong Sensorium!
Now what does this mean for your child?
Ultimately, using a multi-sensory approach in a learning environment helps to meet the varying needs of all children giving them each a chance to succeed. So why not expose children to lots and lots of sensory play to give them their best start…Sensorium Early Learning Centre was born to do just that!!
Check out what we have to offer.
Our vision is for all children to have their best possible early start and our purpose is to ensure all children have the learning, development and successful outcomes they need for school and life.

Our Pre-School. Our Family. Our Community.
We know it takes a village to raise a child so let me tell you a little bit about who I am and why I am excited to be a part of your village! My Mom and I successfully operated our first childcare centre in 2013 for seven years and we are so happy to bring that experience into creating Sensorium!

SENSORIUM - 7 SENSES
SOUND
Hearing, or audition, is the ability to perceive sound by detecting vibrations, changes in the pressure of the surrounding medium through time, through an organ such as the ear.
TOUCH
Touch, or somatosensory, is a perception resulting from activation of neural receptors, generally in the skin including hair follicles and a variety of pressure receptors respond to variations in pressure (firm, brushing, sustained, etc.).
TASTE
Taste, or gustation, refers to the capability to detect the taste of substances such as food, certain minerals, and poisons, etc.
SMELL
Smell or olfaction is our ability to detect scent – chemical, odour molecules in the air.
SIGHT
Sight or vision is the capability of the eyes to focus and detect images of visible light and generate electrical nerve impulses for varying colors, hues, and brightness.
VESTIBULAR
The vestibular system explains the perception of our body in relation to gravity, movement and balance.
PROPRIOCEPTION
Proprioception is the sense of the relative position of neighbouring parts of the body and strength of effort being employed in movement.
What ages are eligible to come to Sensorium?
We currently have spots available for newborns and children up to 12 years old.
What if my child has dietary restrictions/allergies?
Not a problem! We can tailer our menu to accommodate your child's dietary needs.
My child has special needs, is your facility wheelchair accessible?
We are so happy to say a big YES to this. Our facility was designed to be an inclusive and mobility friendly environment so your child will feel safe and at home.
